I really enjoy the variety of lessons. I have also put my lessons to use by practicing with the chat bot. I am on daily lesson 2 and excited to continue with the next.
Don’t use this one, get the main Mondly app. They all seem to support all languages anyway. Overall not perfect but good customer support.
Immersion training is good
I picked the lowest starting level and the first few lessons are so advanced. I don’t know how they think this is how to start learning. Lesson three they wanted me to spell a sentence in Japanese already. Really? Wasted my money. Wish I could get refund a day into it. The few free lessons are easy but the first paid ones much too advanced. The App respond to me telling me there are three levels. I am on beginner level already thank you and it is so advanced I can’t get past the first few lessons. Try another app for English learning Japanese. Unusable. Rip off. So many mistakes my Japanese wife points out.
The big one is the vocabulary cards when you touch an underlined word. At first I thought they had 音読み. (Onyomi, pronunciation from Chinese). But they made no sense. However I also know Mandarin, and they turned out to be Romanized Mandarin, which is very odd. The small oddities include mismatch of speaker to desired text in listening exercises. Imasu vs iru is common. Also, you often get marked wrong for correct kanji and/or kana. I have had better luck with romaji. The free daily lessons are just fine.
very good i love it!!!
I have been really enjoying the app. As it allows you to learn by forming sentences and not just studying flashcards. The only thing that I would improve is it can only be used in portrait orientation and not landscape. This should be fine if you have a small iPhone but I have a large iPad. Hopefully the developers will have a landscape orientation in the future.
It’s really fun in the words they teach you help you a lot I never knew learn Japanese could be this easy I honestly thought it would take years i’m still learning the app but it’s really good :D
Reminds me a lot about Rosetta Stone. The daily lessons are a huge plus too and there’s a lot of topics to build a basic vocabulary! Thanks to my friend for recommending this
this app has been a wonderful foothold into japanese..even without buying the package it allows you to get familiar with common phrases and words that prepare you to really learn the language.
J'aime beaucoup cette application, mais un abonnement Premium est-il nécessaire?
Love the interface and audio help
Good
I think this app is very well it can make you lear fast Japanese
Learning feels like playing a memory game
A great little app that is fun and keeps you in the game everyday.
I love it
Thank you for finally updating the pronunciations, the previous audio was such low quality that I could hardly understand it sometimes, but this is very clear and easy to hear!
This app starts out okay, it works semi well if you look past several of the features which don’t make any sense. For example it will ask you to select which word means mother, but all of the options have pictures of different family members, one which depicts a woman holding a baby. This makes it immediately apparent which is the right answer and hinders any real learning. The deeper problem however is that you can access very little without buying. If you do decide to purchase the ONE month option, for $9.49, you will NOT be notified that the app is continuing to auto-renew this purchase every month, EVEN IF YOU HAVE DELETED THE APP. This is such an easy way for them to make money as most people do not notice until several months in, and they will not refund you. Don’t fall for it!
I have come across a few words that are not translated correctly or to its full meaning, but overall whatever language you choose will teach the language to at least a passable level.
This app is a waste of time and money. I have finished the first section and it will not let me continue to the next section and they say that they cannot do anything about it. They also would not let me delete my account.
their is that man voice which is very bad and annoying, please if you change it
This is a great app to refresh what I already learned. It's hard to find people to practice with and this app has it all.
Hey been looking let's see how it goes
You can feel the Japanese seeping into your veins
So this app is awesome for learning new Japanese mostly because of the difficulties. The only problem I have with it that doesn't make it a 5 star is the errors. For some of them there is no possible correct answer like for example: I went. The answer would be "watashi wa itta. Where as the choices to form that correct answer is not there.
Hearing how to pronounce things is priceless. This app doesn't baby you to knowledge though, you have to work through what things mean. I love it.
Really great app. I learned a lot of phrases and managed to use them in conversations
First off I have studied Japanese for several years already. I am looking for something to become more fluent tho. This is a nice fluid app, it flows really well and the audio is (mostly) pretty good sounding. I really wish you could "write" with your finger to answer questions rather than typing, it'd be great! I started off in intermediate level and it was still pretty basic. The problem is I saw some errors in the Japanese. You are teaching the words for "sister" and "brother" but it's misleading. "imouto" means "younger sister" and "otouto" means "younger brother". You should specify that and teach the words for older brother/sister (お姉さん、お兄さん)。 They are used a lot. Tho, the person who reviewed saying "haha" 母 doesn't mean mother is wrong. Tho "okaa-San" is most common to say. "Obaa-San" is grandmother. "Konnichiwa" does means hello/good afternoon and "konbanwa" is good evening.
I ran into two errors in my first two lessons. They said "haha" meant "mother". Haha means grandmother, and okaasan means mother. They also said "Good afternoon" meant "Konnichiwa". This one may have been an accidental error, but it will confuse people who are just learning. Konbanwa means good afternoon, if you were wondering. This app has potential, just fix the errors and make sure you are teaching correct Japanese. I'll re-download it once it is fixed!
It's cool, very helpful with phrases, but not really if you want to know the words separately and when they should be used. It also doesn't tell you what the symbols for the phrases are either
It's a great language learning app. Have nothing else to say
Maybe this app works ok for same type alphabets but for Japanese, it's terrible. • it's all in romaji - this does not help learn Japanese • the romaji does not conform to the Japanese government standard • Japanese doesn't use spaces, yet this app forces you to use them • space usage is inconsistent and I've missed questions simply because I didn't put a space or I did • never never should a question be marked wrong for punctuation unless it's extremely important and with the way they do it with Japanese, it's definitely not important • the audio samples are often clipped too much on one side or another, losing part of it. such sloppy work • a few audio samples were flat out the wrong thing. Four has two core pronunciations, yon, and shi, and shi is rarely used by itself. Yet the sample said yon and the answer was shi In general, they just slapped Japanese in there with no real sense of continuity, ease of use, accuracy, and quality. Their Q&A department for this language should be fired. Look elsewhere if you really want to learn Japanese.
This app is truly a must have if you want to learn a new language. The UI is great. The system and the method used to teach you the language is also very well designed. Honestly a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and best language learning app i've seen!
I have been wanting to learn the Japan langue for so long! OMG thanks app!
I love this app thank you so much for making it. This app is very addictive and I'm learning japanese at a quick rate. ありがとう
